The garden is an extension of a newly renovated contemporary home for a family of four.  The grade change between upper and lower terrace naturally separates the spaces into an active playing area for children above, and a courtyard garden used for dining and quiet activities below.  A single concrete ground plane extends from the interior of the house through the exterior courtyard garden and terminates at a concrete walled pool and fountain.  The series of glass doors are a seamless division between inside and outside, and allow the interior space to flow directly out to the pool wall.  The horizontal lines of the fountain wall are replicated in the bold concrete retaining wall that is anchored by a tall fireplace.
